I really, really liked this movie. I'm terrible at describing movies, but it's about 3 brothers who decide to take a trip through India, via the Darjeeling Limited. One brother is a writer who never stays in one place for long, one is a soon-to-be father taking a break from responsibility, and one is bandaged up from nearly dying in a car crash. They start off like most other vacationers, with their piles of luggage and strict itinerary, but by the end you'll see they've truly transformed as travellers. I didn't want this movie to end!

I was at the video store the other day and nearly picked that one up, but didn't thinking it was just another lame Hollywood comedy....thanks for the review...I think I know what I may be watching this weekend.  Smiley

Haha, that was literally the next movie I was going to review on here, you beat me to it!

Its quirky, funny but not stupid, has an INCREDIBLE soundtrack, and the directing is spot-on. Since I play with cameras, I'm always on the lookout for good cinematography and directing - and this movie has both.  You realize about half way through it that there is no point in the movie at all, its just a fun ride.

I loved the clip they put at the beginning of the DVD in the hotel with his girlfriend. So bizzare but artsy.

Is it just me, or does this movie have a sort of fried, Big Weirzbowski feel to it?

Just watched it and loved it!....though I must admit I'm a fan of Wes Anderson.

This movie is depicts the old adage that it's "all about the journey" no matter the outcome or final destination.

Ditto on the excellent soundtrack...I just might have to go searching for some of those tunes.

The featurette in the extras is interesting as well...the filming itself was a journey as they shot on their very own moving train.

Yes, I heard about this, but do not want to see the screen shots.  Is there really any need?

I loved this movie.  I am on constant look out to find an old copy so I can watch it again and again.  In some ways, it's hard to believe that it's not more well received, but then, neither am I so, maybe that's why it barely achieves cult classic status.

In any case, I highly recommend this film.  It's is strangely invigorating with a twist of weirdness thrown in for good measure.
