I would like to know the best way to get from Cairo to Jerusalem. I understand there is bus service; however, that takes approximately 10-12 hours depending upon how long it takes at the border. Is there an alternative way to get there? Are there frequent flights from Cairo to Tel Aviv? Also, do I need a tourist Visa to enter Israel. I will be purchasing a Visa a the Cairo airport upon my arrival there. I am a US Citizen. I'll be traveling to Egypt Feb. 24 - March 18. Not exactly sure when I will be going to Jerusalem during that time. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Hey Waoop,

If you're going that route, it might be worth going north in Sinai (past Dahab) and crossing overland into Jordan to check out Petra on the way. If you are coming back, go ahead
and get the multiple entry stamp for jordan so you won't have trouble.

Also, you need to research the situation a couple of months from now, things are volatile and change a lot.  Israel will usually stamp a piece of paper for you if you explain nicely rather than putting it into your passport, once its in your passport you won't be able to travel to some Muslim countries.
