Hi, I am planning a trip to Thailand, Laos and Vietman in January for a few months. I am very outgoing and mature, and in my early twenties. i have however just broken the news to my Mum who is convinced I will get raped/murdered/robbed/kidnapped or all of the above and more, and suggests Spain, Italy or France would be much better...!
Of course I am now getting cold feet about the whole thing. Any thoughts on all this anyone?

Hey Lulahloo,

I think I responded to your other post as well....I get emails about this daily.  All those bad things happen in big cities all over Europe, US, UK, etc....all you have to do while abroad is the
same thing that you would do at home - have some common sense!

I meet scores of women traveling Southeast Asia alone and they all had the time of their lives - the Buddhist countries are particularly easy going. Just don't accept drinks from men that
you don't know and you'll never have a problem.

Cheers!
