Well, there's been a slight change of plans destination wise, but the good news is I'm hitting the road soon!  Cool

Ticket's booked and I'm heading back to the Middle East at the beginning of May staying until the end of September (in time for the arrival of my niece(s)/nephew(s) twins).

Starting in Paris for a couple of days to meet friends then Lebanon, Syria, Turkey and finish off in Athens (Greece) where I can stay with an old friend from my university days.

I've been to Syria before but only for a short trip and accompanied by a travel companion whose travel style was not necessarily compatible with mine. Greece is also a repeat (3 times lucky?) but I've been offered a place to stay for a few weeks, where I can possibly get some writing done.

Will be setting up a new blog for this trip and will post the link here once I start adding content.

Sweetness!

Sounds like an awesome adventure....can't wait to see the photos and hear about it.  Let me know your primary way to keep in touch
with trip goodies (ie...your site, twitter, whatever) and I'll make sure everyone on Vagabonding Life knows.

Enjoy that good Lebanese food for me.   Cool

Ah, I love PARIS and ... Lebanese food! So jealous right now.

You likely don't need any advice for Paris, but if you do, let me know. My new favorite activity in Paris is to sip a violet martini at the bar inside George V ... of course, it costs a small fortune, but I can sip a martini and write postcards all night long ! For some reason, that place has always inspired my writing. In the guest rooms, they have books of famous novelists who have written books about or inside the George V. I know it is a little pompous, but there must be a muse inside that hotel, I swear !!!

Have a FUNtastic time and do let me know the address of your blog. I would love to read about your adventures.

Thanks guys! I'm only a couple of days in Paris, just a stopover to meet friends so not much sightseeing. I've been before, but never went into the Georges V...might have to try that out.  Cool

I'm launching a brand new blog for this trip and will post the link here when it launches (probably mid May). It'll be a more personal site, with photos, and video if I can get bandwidth while I'm on the road. I'll also be adding stuff to cultoftravel.com , as I go.

Wow cool. I wish I could also take off for 3 months onto the road.  Let us know how it went when you return. I am sure you will be full of stories.
