First time trip to South Korea

I'm going to be going to South Korea for a week this summer if things all go to plan. I'm going to be staying with a friend of mine that I've known for a long time and won't have much in the way of money, so I was wondering what would be a good thing to do while there and what I should avoid. I'll be staying in Seoul.
