Anyone seen Slumdog?

I shrugged off all the hype, forgot about it, then finally got out to see it over the weekend......wow...wish I hadn't waited - loved it!

I'm not sure if I want to go to Mumbai now to see for myself or run like hell!   Shocked

I saw it when it first came out, but I have to say I was a little disappointed. I expected a rag to riches story, because of hard work, etc. But instead it seemed to offer more support for the ideas advanced in "Outliers" by Gladwell.

But I did appreciate the reality of the slums. I cannot say I enjoyed watching the stark pverty or that I cannot wait to see it with my own eyes. But I was glad to see it was presented in a real way. When I go to idea, I intend to spend at least a month in an Ashram - that's the extent of simplicity and "poverty" I am willing to experience.

Speaking of movies, have you seen "Revolutionary Road" with Winslet and DeCaprio? After I saw that movie (even if the ending pissed me off to a great degree), I felt like packing and moving to Paris ... just like I did 10 years ago! Can someone remind me why did I come back? Because I cannot ....
