I've seen this movie so many times that I got sick of it to be honest. But I reliezed something today. The movie has the same meaning as backpacking the way we do.

The guy works nonstop, never has time for his kids, very corporate, etc. He is in a rat race. By the end of the movie he reliezes time is moving by so quickly and needs to appreciate every moment.

Since I've started my corporate job over a year ago, I feel like I've pressed fast forward and everything just flys by. Counting the days Wink

I liked the movie up until the stuff with his dad, thought that part was kind of depressing to tell the truth!

So true....the corporate mentality is "do more with less" so we end up rushing around. Then the weekend comes around, and even
vacation, and you STILL rush because time off is so precious you don't want to waste it!  I think that was the best part for me when
I started vagabonding...I realized that I HAD time for once in my life.

The Japanese have a zen concept (can't remember the word) but its basically a "do nothing" day....literally a day when you aren't allowed
to do anything productive at all, not even read.  It clears out your mind and gets you re-centered making you way more productive later. Too
bad companies in the West don't think like that!

I really enjoyed 'Click'.  Even the sad stuff about his dad.  It was the last 'kick in the pants'.  I've been there, working until I alienated most of my family.  I'm glad to see it talked about here as a metaphor for vagabonding.  Just more validation as I start this new life.  Smiley
