I just recently found out about this opportunity. (From this forum, Ironically enough...) To say the least, i am extremely interested. But I have a few questions that I am hoping someone here may have some experience with.

1.Which website is the best to receive your certification through?

2.What level of difficulty will I experience trying to find work abroad?

3.Anyone have any success stories (or links too..) That will help me stay motivated?

Thanks Guys!

Hey Vagabond,

in case you didn't see it, Tyrel shared a good story about TEFL here: http://www.startbackpacking.com/travel/teaching-english/
It is almost ridiculously easy to find work abroad as an English teacher, the REAL trick is finding a place that you like and want to commit to. Some of the schools in developing countries
can be a nightmarish test of patience.

A couple great resources are http://www.eslcafe.com  and http://www.transitionsabroad.com. OR...you could just do what my German
friends did in Thailand and go knock on the door of a local elementary school unannounced!  (they accepted her and gave her free room/board) for only
3 hours of teaching a day!

The only website that I have received any feedback on is the one I am partnered with (OnlineTEFL.com). One my travel friends used them and they helped
her get a job in China.  Here's the link: http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-3358969-10358878  (they buy me a beer when you use it)  Smiley

Cheers!

I did their 100 hour TEFL course and was able to get a job with Interac. I am not sure how much the i-to-i certification helped though.
