I''m going to embark on a hiking trip across Canada. (see thecanadaexperience.tumblr.com) i would love to use a bivy sack and hammock the entire way. Given Canada''s extreme conditions in the winter do you think this would be possible? Can i get a reliable four season bivy and hammock, or will i need a tent? If you know of any specific products that you would recommend please let me know.

Hello Tom

Your journey looks to be an amazing one! Have you checked out the hennessy hammock? I've never used one personally, but my father says they're great because you can easily tie them to just about anything from trees and rocks to road signs and cars. They also have a rain cover and insulation system to make them a little bit more livable in crazier weather. Might be worth looking into.
Have a great journey!

Here's a link to the hammocks:

I think the Bivi sack and hammock both can be used according to the condition of Canada's weather. The weather could be turned so bad and dangerous sometimes in winter. The snow fall makes it more badly. The bivi sack should be lighter and efficient to meet the requirements of fierce weather conditions of Canada mountain climbing.
