Destinations / Southeast Asia / Nam Cat Tien - recommended tour or private driver hire?
|
on: January 07, 2010, 05:52:43 AM

We would dearly love to go to the Cat Tien National Park and stay from one evening. I want to avoid going on a large tour waiting around for people to be on time for the pick up etc. Can anyone recommend an efficient tour agency or is this something that two confident travellers can do themselves - if so, how from HCMC? What are the accommodation options once in the park? And if we are able to get ourselves there is there an option to hire a trekking guide and trip on the night jeep independently from within the park? Is the boat trip down the river worth it on the second day (we will have done some boating in the Mekong Delta probably) or would you suggest getting a vehicle pick up straight to our chosen beach resort in Phan Thiet? Any tips at all on this trip would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Destinations / North America / San Francisco weather in January
|
on: January 02, 2010, 10:49:20 PM
|
|
Is the San Francisco weather in January pleasant enough to spend long hours outside? I understand the average weather would be approximately 55 degrees, but would like to know whether that doesn't interfere with enjoying a pleasant afternoon outdoors. Is a sweater and sweatershirt enough for being outside? Is being on a boat enjoyable in such weather, or is it too chilly for that?
Thanks for your help!

Destinations / Australia / Where to live in Queensland
|
on: December 30, 2009, 06:03:18 AM

Hi,
My husband and I and our baby are moving from Scotland to Australia at the end of March for about 6 months. We have decided on Brisbane or the Sunshine Coast, for the warmer climate in the winter months. We'd love to live within walking distance of the beach, but it would have to be near shops, cafes etc, with plenty going on around. My husband will be working away for about half the time so I'd like to be somewhere where I felt safe and secure, but wasn't too quiet, where I don't need a car to get around, and perhaps with mother and baby groups or similar that I could go to. Any suggestions or advice on where to look would be much appreciated!
Thanks

Destinations / Europe / Farm Vacation

Hi,
I am in the early stages of planning a week long trip to Ireland (so far alone) in the spring. What I am interested in is a working farm vacation but not completely out in the boonies. I searched online but I am not having much luck. Any info or websites would be greatly appreciated. This will be my first time visiting Ireland, I do not have an area in mind, so I am open to staying anywhere.
Thanks in advance!

Destinations / Europe / Salisbury and Bath in a day?
|
on: December 12, 2009, 05:27:52 AM
|
|
Hey all,
We are planning to visit Salisbury from Wembley in end of December. We are planning to see Stonehenge, Cathedral, and Old Sarum. We were also interested in visiting Bath. The questions are-
1. Can we club both in a day? 2. If not, will it be more advisable (and economical) to stay in one of these cities instead on returning to Wembley and coming back next day. 3. If we stay in the region for couple days are there any other attractions we shouldn't miss?
Thanks in advance for your tips.

I need to stay one night in January at Heathrow - I will be booking in at T3 at 08.00 the next morning. I do not want to pay too much - Travel Lodge or similar would do. I am also taking the tube from Kings Cross to get there so basically somewhere convenient for the tube station and T3. Any suggestions?
